Treatment for hemorrhoids usually begins with relieving the painful symptoms the condition can cause. This may involve taking warm baths several times a day and increasing fiber and fluids in your diet. Your doctor may also recommend taking stool softeners or fiber supplements.
In some cases, hemorrhoids resolve on their own without any treatment. Methods that can be used to remove or reduce the size of
internal hemorrhoids may include rubber band ligation and infrared coagulation. However, such procedures are often reserved for extreme cases, when more conservative options have failed.
